It's quite bloody and violent, so if you prefer the more stylized vampire novel, (like the Eclipse Saga) beware. It was amusing at points, but it just seemed like the author has a good idea that drove him about half way through the novel, and then he had no idea where to go. While this was a good idea of a new approach to the old I-was-a-teenage-vampire novel, it was ultimately unsatisfying. To help him not become a blood sucking freak? Can he trust his friends and family NOT to lynch him, if that happens? Should he trust Chet a self described celestial being?

Soon he becomes moody and can no longer see his reflection. This book is a chilling story that tells a story of a boy who has an average life until he begins to feel a thirst that can not be filled with any liquid that he tries. M.T Anderson is a vary talented writer I love her work. I stayed up many nights past 2 am just because I had to find out what happened next. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and I found it hard to put down every night so I could go to bed. This book is a very well written book and I would tell any one who liked twilight saga to read this book it has a good vampire lover theme to it.
